Area Consultative Committee (ACC) Boundary Review

The boundaries of the 56 Area Consultative Committees (ACCs) were reviewed in 2006 to ensure that the boundaries of non-metropolitan ACCs continue to reflect areas of common interest.  The review process also considered whether the boundaries and number of metropolitan ACCs continue to be appropriate.  Although the role and functions of ACCs have changed considerably since they were first established, ACC boundaries have changed little in that time.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport and Regional Services, the Hon Mark Vaile MP, has now decided that a number of changes are to be made to the boundaries of several ACCs.  These changes are set out in the accompanying table.  Please note that no changes will be made to ACCs in Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory or the Australian Capital Territory.

All changes are to take effect from 1 July 2007.  There will be no disruption to the high levels of service expected of ACCs.  If your organisation has current business with an ACC affected by a change of boundary, please be assured that arrangements will be made with you to continue normal levels of ACC service and support.

Maps of ACCs affected by the changes will be amended on the ACC website in July 2007, soon after the new boundaries come into affect.
