How do ACCs link with business?ACCs have a key networking role with local businesses. This enables them to maintain effective communication channels between the Australian Government, business and the community. Through these networks ACCs promote and disseminate information on Government priorities and programmes for the benefit of business and the community. ACCs also undertake consultations with business on a range of initiatives and specifically when developing their Strategic Regional Plan. How do ACCs support local businesses?ACCs work with all levels of Government, especially their local government organisations, to foster a coordinated approach to regional development.ACCs have helped deliver a number of initiatives designed to support small business such as New Tax System assistance and the Small Business Assistance Officer pilot. How do ACCs assist in sustainable development and regional growth?The ACC organisational arrangements enable Government to better respond to each regions needs. ACCs do this by encouraging the local community to take up opportunities under the range of Government programmes.These programmes are designed to optimise the regions own potential and development, whilst being managed at the local level, with the private sector and Government in partnership.
